Order a half dozen or so and everyone can "click" away together. Rating: - They work well My kids are 2 and 3 years old but don't really get how to use these. However, I use them when they break out all their instruments. I like them. Rating: - Great for Pre-K and even younger. I use these for teaching music in preschools. The kids absolutely love them. It's perfect for hand/eye coordination and they love the click sounds it makes. I love that it's plastic so it's difficult to break. It's a great way to introduce children to a unique instrument and have fun exploring with it. Rating: - Great for Toddlers and Reasonable Price I bought 6 pairs and I'm happy with them. I'm teaching my daughter (3.3 y.o.) rhythm and she enjoys making sounds with them. (She immediately learned the word, "castanet", too.) I use castanets for a circle time when I have playgroup/playdate for my daughter. I have an expensive set of musical instruments as well; but, you don't need to spend a lot of money to introduce music (rhythm) to toddlers. This castanet is very easy for your child to use, BUT, don't be confused by the term 'pair' here...I guess that refers to the two 'sides' of the castanet?
